Why it exists
A friend with a B&B didn't want to hand over commission on every booking. I built him a website with a booking system, on WordPress, for €500. It worked, for about a year. Then the updates came, and after that the question whether I could take a quick look. Every owner with their own site knows that story, and most of them end up back on Airbnb.
Bouwnb is that one project, turned into a service. The same site, with a calendar that stays in sync with the platforms, and the upkeep on our side. You change rates, photos and copy yourself in a dashboard, and it keeps running without you ever having to call anyone.
Who makes it
I'm Remco Bouwman. I build bouwnb on my own, and I also handle the contact with the owners who run on it. Fill in the contact form and I read it myself. If something breaks, I'm the one who fixes it. The guides on this site come out of what I see at those owners, not out of a marketing plan.
Where things stand
Bouwnb is in alpha. A handful of B&Bs run on it, and during this period it's free. A new version ships every two weeks; your dashboard tells you what changed, and it holds the roadmap you vote on. Once there's a price, it will be a flat monthly amount, never a percentage of your bookings. Whoever helps build it now won't be forgotten when that moment comes.
What we stand for
No commission, ever, and no rules about what you charge. Your guests are your guests: their details live on your site, not on a list of ours, and fourteen days after check-out we delete their contact details. And where the platforms or the all-in-one tools do better, we say so, on the comparison page.
